11 Questions

I was tagged by nuranar:

The rules:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves in their journal.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
3. You have to choose 11 people to tag.
4. No tag backs.

1. What was one of the best Christmas presents you have ever received?
This may be a little mundane, but it's true - a Sonicare toothbrush.
2. What was your first car, and how long did it last for you?
Mercury Topaz, and it lasted only a few years.  Some kind of computer/electrical problem caused it to randomly die while I was driving.  After about half and hour, it could be started and driven again...but who wants to deal with that kind of unreliability?
3. What's your favorite comedian or comedy team from early film/TV (through 1960)?
I don't have much experience with that era, but I have seen lots of 3 Stooges.
4. What non-winter-time holidays do you decorate for?
Does Halloween count as a winter-time holiday?  I think it's a fall event.  It's my hubby's favorite, so we put up LOTS of decorations.
5. Preferred habitat: Urban, suburban, or rural, and why?
Suburban.  I like the slower, quieter pace of rural living, but I still want convenience.  Suburban is the compromise.
6. Austen or Brontë?
Austen, by default.  She's the only one of the two I've read.
7. Would you prefer to have a wonderful singing voice, or to play your musical instrument of choice as a master?
I think I'd prefer to have a wonderful voice!  You always have your 'instrument' with you.  Of course, it's easy for me to say that since my singing voice is definitely NOT wonderful.
8. What was your least-favorite book read this year?
Magician, by Raymond Feist.  Good story, but very difficult to get into.
9. Would you rather garden or cook?
I love certain parts of both, but I have to go with cooking.  The Texas heat makes gardening a lot less enjoyable than it was in Indiana.
10. Sew or knit/crochet?
Sew!  I don't know how to knit or crochet (yet.)
11. Fires: Wood fireplace, wood stove, gas logs, chiminea, fire pit, or other?
Wood fireplace or wood stove.  The house I lived in as a little kid was heated solely by a wood stove, so I have fond memories of it.  We never cooked on it, but I'd love to try it someday.  I've got my heart set on having a wood fireplace when I move next.  Who doesn't love the smell of a wood fire?  You can't say the same of a gas fire, that's for sure.

I know the rules say I should tag 11 people here, but I'm pretty sure I don't have 11 LJ friends to tag!  So, if you're reading this and you want to play along, please feel free!
